Meet Joetta

In 2024, Joetta was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. She began her first treatment in January 2025, and in July bravely underwent a double mastectomy surgery. Today, Joetta is cancer-free and continues immunotherapy treatments every three weeks, with hopes of completing treatment by February 2026.

But Joetta’s journey hasn’t been easy. In June 2025, she was laid off from her job. When she applied for unemployment, she was unexpectedly disqualified—even after waiting eight weeks. Since then, she has reached out to multiple agencies for financial help, but support has been limited.

Her greatest concern now is catching up on rent and covering medical recovery needs. She is also trying to purchase prosthetic bras, which cost $150 even after insurance, and her checking account has fallen into overdraft.

Joetta’s story is one of courage and perseverance—but no one should have to fight alone.
